- New York State Citizen Coalition for Children (nysccc.org) - This is an absolutely wonderful website. They have a section called "Ask the Experts" where adult transracial adoptees answer question from adoptive parents. The organization also produced the DVD "Struggle for Identity: Issues in Transracial Adoption," which features interviews with adult transracial adoptees and adoptive parents, as well as the sequel, "A Conversation 10 Years Later."
- Tips for raising children transracially from parents and adult adoptees who were in the first wave of transracial adoptions in the U.S. This is valuable information regardless of the country you adopt from. See johnraible.files.wordpress.com.
- An important test to take if you are considering adopting transracially. "The 'Implicit Association Test" is a 10-minute tool to probe biases. You will be presented with words or images and asked to respond as quickly as possible. At the end, your responses will be tallied so that you can see how your score compares to others. This is important regardless whether you are adopting from China, Ethiopia, the U.S. foster system, or a domestic newborn. See understandingprejudice.org/iat.
